| at this early stage....in part because of fullerton beating ucla and pacific beating san diego u...their are 4 teams with good rpis....fullerton at 4, pacific at 31, irvine at 37, and long beach at 56.....it wont last but its neat to see at least for now....everyone else is 266 or higher.... |

| pacific is making everyone reconsider their overall prediction they would place 5th this year..... the rpi and sagarin predictions have them with first or second place conference records now....i ll reserve judgement till after they play san diego st, san jose st, fresno st, fresno st, and nevada....after sac st beat oregon st even sac st might not be a gimme this year.....i just hope they can be competitive vs cal and st marys.... a split would exceed my expectations...... |

| i like irvine.....but the only chance they have this year is the big west tourney to get the bid.... at least 5 teams are better this year...and irvine is picked by both media and coaches to be at next to the bottom of the standings....i dont have a team i think will take it..... but i think it will be between pacific, ucsb, fullerton, davis and riverside...... northridge isnt living up to hype so far.. long beach has only won vs weak teams even tho they have a passable record overall, davis is about a year away, and poor cal poly is just pathetic....riverside is the surprise team so far, but i think it will fade in the conference race....i see a potential 3 way tie again this year.... |

| To all Big West competitors: I would like to start a dialog with other Big West fans. I think that UC Irvine will be the NCAA tournament bid this year.
